The Protection Order

A large part of the area of Assynt has been granted a Protection Order by the government to assist in preserving its natural, ecological and geological uniqueness.
This means that valid permits must be held for fishing in the area.
Fishing without legal right or written permission is prohibited.

Permits are inexpensive and very easy to obtain from a number of outlets highlighted in the permit section.

The money generated from these permits is essential in helping the Assynt Angling Group maintain the standard of equipment (boats, engines, fishing huts, paths and signage etc) available to visitors, so please contribute to the upkeep for future years and purchase a valid permit. See map
